Thursday, November 06, 2008 well, he did it.

Current mood: hopeful obama won!! woohoo! i hope you all took part in yesterday's historic election. i did. and i must say it feels pretty good to be on the winning side this time. 4 years ago i voted for kerry and somehow a majority of americans believed that bush hadn't screwed up enough in his first 4 years and decided to give him a 2nd term. but, that's all over now and blah blah blah, the future, blah blah blah change, and all that good stuff. who's excited? i am. i'm probably going to end up being a teacher, and obama wants to give teachers raises so that's definitely a plus. but that's not the only reason i voted for him. that's enough. i don't want to get all political on here because then i'll have a blog that's like super duper long. by the way people, bring back super duper. is duper even a word? when i spell shit wrong on my computer it'll underline it in red to let me know that it's wrong, but it doesn't underline it. meh. so yesterday, when i went to vote, one of the election judges sort of pissed me off. i walked in and went to get my ballot, and when i said Escobedo a lady sitting next to the guy giving me my ballot looks up and is like, "there's like a dozen of you guys", but it was the way she said the "you guys" part that sort of pissed me off. i thought to myself, "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?". but whatever i just shrugged it off. but then that also got me thinking, seriously how many escobedos are out there? especially since my voting district is kinda small. it's that little tiny piece of unincorporated land between west chicago and winfield. there's hardly any mexicans there, let alone mexicans who's last name is escobedo. i think in my entire life i've met like 2 people who's last name is escobedo who weren't related to me. and the ones who are related to me don't live in my voting district. which makes me think this lady was just lying. idk. maybe there are a bunch of escobedo's i don't know about. maybe my last name isn't as unique as i thought. whatever. obama won so i don't care. sooo, on a much more important note haha, my birthday is on friday. i think you should all pitch in and buy me this: "> it'd be greatly appreciated. oh, and as a warning, my phone is being gay, and i can't send or receive text messages, and i'm too lazy to get it fixed so don't send me happy birthday texts because i won't get them. if you don't have the unlimited free texting crap it'd be a waste of money for ya as well. also it's been like this for a month or so, so if you've sent me text messages since, and i haven't responded, now ya know why. well. that's it for now. and as i read over this again, i realize that it's kind of a lame blog. and i'm sorry. it was more of an acknowledgment that history was made yesterday and i was a part of it. next week i'll try and write something entertaining.
